Friday, October 17th update

Kevin "Johnny Bravo" Sanders (1956-2008)

It is our extremely sad duty to inform everyone that Kevin "Johnny Bravo" Sanders passed away on Thursday, October 16th at around 4:30 pm. Kevin has spent over 2 years in a nursing home after being incapacitated with a stroke in the summer of 2006. He apparently developed a severe respiratory problem early Thursday and was rushed to the hospital where he passed away later that afternoon. Details on funeral or memorial arrangements will be posted here as soon as they are finalized.

We'd like to thank all of Clutch's fans and family who have expressed their condolences about Buttercup in the past few weeks. We are planning a DVD tribute to Buttercup featuring footage of him from all through the years, along with interviews of present and former Clutch members reminiscing about Clutch's irreplaceable bandleader.

And now to address the question that's been on everyone's mind lately....after much thought and consideration, we have decided, in Buttercup's, and now Kevin's honor and memory, to keep the band together and continue to perform as Clutch. With that in mind, we naturally have a couple of changes to announce. First off, we must say goodbye to two members...good luck in the future to departing members Cha Chi and Big Al. We had a great summer working with these guys again and we'd like to thank them for helping to make it a great success.

We are very proud to welcome back to the band on a full-time basis, the incredible Jumpin' Johnny Flame! Jumpin' will officially take over as bandleader after the first of the year. We would also like to announce that Clutch will be holding auditions for new front people and a new sax player in the near future.
