Buttercup Tribute Page

Buttercup was born on October 13th, 1951 and was one of the original founding members of Clutch. He was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up hearing his dad's band rehearse at home every Wednesday night and when they took a break he would pick up the instruments and play! He taught himself how to play a number of instruments including trumpet, guitar, bass, and drums. Although raised on Country and Rock he played in a 50's band called The Belairs which merged with Clutch in 1974. He was the Heart and Soul of the band for more than 30 years and his impersonations of Roy Orbison and Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers have long thrilled Clutch fans. He passed away on August 29th, 2008. Buttercup can never be replaced and will always be an inspiration to the band, fans, and entire Clutch family.
